Pictures from our MI trip

Papa's Pumpkin Festival/Farm

When I arrived in MI it was quite warm. The day after it was 90 degrees. We were looking forward to doing Fall activities in the northern MI area. It sure didn't feel like Fall though. We went to this family farm that puts on a pumpkin festival. There were all kinds of activities for the kids. They had fresh cider and donuts. You can't ask for more than that in MI this time of year. :-)

Photo Contest

I entered Jonas into the G*P Kids Baby Photo Contest. Do I think he will win? Probably not. However, my friends cousin was picked last year and he graced the posters in all the G*P Kids store windows across America. So...here is the picture I sent in. I'll let you know if/when you can do online voting. :-) (my sister took this a couple weeks ago when we went for a visit)

Back-tracking again...Announcement!

We have a precious new addition to the Barker family. Grandchild # 2 has arrived. Alexia Joeli Barrs was born September 15th at 7 a.m. after a very long labor.
She weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 21 inches long.

Her parents are Kim (Barker) Barrs and Joel Barrs. Kim is Joe's older sister. We are so thankful Alexia is here and that she lives just 5 miles away! Jonas is excited to have a cousin living in the same state. :-) Here is this precious new gift from God:

Short Update from Jonas

Happy Fall Everyone!
Mommy is really really busy since we returned home from MI. She wanted me to let you know that more post and pictures will come soon!
GUESS WHAT? I'm WALKING! I started taking off the 2nd day we were in MI. My cousin Cole made me hold his hand all day on Saturday walking EVERYWHERE! I still like to crawl sometimes but I can walk all over our house as long as Daisy doesn't knock me down.
Please pray for me. I have croup. I think I got the virus in MI. I'm not up to eating or drinking much today. But mommy and daddy are taking care of me and I should be better soon. I just wish they could lay off the Elderberry Syrup. :-)

15 months

My baby is 15 months old today. He is giving us kisses everyday that just melt our hearts. For some reason when we are in public he will grab my face to give me a kiss. It usually occurs while I'm having a conversation with someone and everything stops. I'm as impressed as the person I'm talking to who says "that is the sweetest thing." I love when he does sweet things we haven't taught him to do. He has done this with Joe and Papa. We all melt. He never does this when we are at home!

Jonas is getting into everything lately. He loves anything that has buttons and he tries to figure everything out. He likes to study things to see how they work and are put together. He is like his daddy. I have a feeling he will be the type of child to to take apart all his toys. :-)

He has decided that walking is not for him. He prefers crawling. Five steps is the max he has ever taken and I've only wittnessed that 2 times. We are headed to MI on Friday to spend time with my sister and her family. Maybe Jonas will be encouraged by his two cousins, Emma and Olivia.
