11 Weeks

Our baby girl is 11 weeks old. What? Is that possible?? Time sure flies with multiple children.

Miss Ivy and I had a little photo shoot this morning. She is not getting near as many picture as Mr. Jonas. Today she is wearing a light pink sweater and bonnet that was mine when I was a baby. It might have been Andrea's as well but I can't remember. My mom was so thoughtful to keep many hand made sweaters and a few outfits that were ours as babies and toddlers. (I don't believe this sweater was hand made) Ivy has an over abundance of clothes due to a cousin just 1 year older. We are benefiting from hand-me-downs as well as gifts from friends. I'm trying to make sure she is wearing everything at least once!
Ivy has been such a joy. She is one of the most smiley kids I have known. However these pictures don't quite reflect that. This is her more serious side. :-)
She isn't exactly sleeping through the night yet but she goes to bed around 8:30-9 and doesn't wake up till around 2:30 a.m. to eat. She then goes right back to sleep till at lest 7 if not later. I am pleased with this schedule right now.
She is cooing and "talking" more and more every day. Yesterday seemed to be a milestone with many more "words." We just laughed. It was so nice to hear.

Our Jonas continues to be a great big brother. He loves her dearly and always asks if he can hold her. We are starting to potty train Jonas and that has brought much frustration for us. Its not been too successful yet. Sigh. Its wearing us out!

just had too...

...post this picture. Everyone who has seen it just laughs. I think its pretty cute myself. I think Ivy was about 6 weeks here. Jonas LOVES to hold her and asks all the time if he can hold her. The expression on Ivy's face is so typical of her. She gives this look all throughout the day. It makes me laugh.

8 weeks

Here is our sweet Ivy at 8 weeks old. I can't believe she is already about 2 months old. Time sure goes more quickly with the addition of more children! We have jumped many hurdles and I feel comfortable with two now. We have ventured out to do errands several times and I "wear" Ivy in the snuggly. I had it on at Target the other day and it was the longest I had carried her around in it and it about broke my back. The store was very hot so that didn't help. I'm looking at other alternative wraps that hold the baby close like the snuggly, but they position the baby's weight more evenly.
Ivy is not sleeping through the night yet. But she only wakes up once, so its not too bad. Jonas was sleeping through at this point and was sleeping about 10 hrs at 10 weeks. But he was bottle fed and a preemie. Ivy is breast feeding and I think that will play a part in her sleeping through. I do look forward to it though! I love my sleep. :-) God has been so good to our family. We are truly blessed!

Be-lated Halloween pictures

Halloween was my due date for Ivy. Since I had her 11 days over I wasn't exactly in the mood to blog, post pictures etc...after that event. Now that we have found our new normal I have a little time. I forgot all about the Halloween cutie pie munchkins in our family. So, thanks to Ma Barker's reminder here are the Barker grand babies as a skunk, duck and chicken. :-) Lexi and Macon's costumes were a whole $2.50 or less from Children's Pl*ce outlet. My mom got Jonas' chicken costume the day of Halloween at M*rshalls for like $8. (50%off) We didn't get to attend Boo in the Zoo with the rest of the family this year. Lexi dressed up for that and on Halloween night and she stopped by to see Jonas to get some pictures. Here are our cutie pies!
